In my view, art and science share commons.
As a scientist, he should consider how to input the elements of beauty and
elevate it to a high level. The famous scientist Qian Xuesen often exclaimed
that “I am often enlightened by my wife Jiang Ying’s singing when I encounter
difficulty on some work and can’t figure it out no matter how hard I think over
it. ” “our idea of making rockets exactly came up when we were talking with
artists.”
Art and science can not be infused into
each other mechanically.
The integration of art and science
should enable people feel the beauty as they are on the scene with an self-conscious
expression of art by applying a lot of visual expressions in stead of
mechanical infusion. We can find that
beauty is everywhere in science like the molecular structure under microscope. If
a designer is lacking in artistic aesthetic cultivation, he would usually
consider more about the function of a product and ignore its appearance
aesthetic taste and comfortable feeling, as a result, impact upon the marketing
of the product, to some extent.
Artists also often have similar problems
such as paint dropping from a cement wall due to alkali content in the cement. However,
if the artists can ask some experts in materials to apply a coating before his
art creation on the cement wall, his art will last longer and appear more
beautiful. In this way, the building and creation cost of public arts can be
reduced.
In addition, art subjects bear the responsibility
of campus beautification in a science college. For example a waste machine of College
of Mechanics can be a witness of the developing history of the college and a public artwork by putting it in certain
scene, plus some embellishments design. We can try to open small classes of art experience for science
students or a ceramic art experience class within the campus or invite artists
to come to the school to interact with students.

In my opinion, the experience class
should be charged by instructors with interdisciplinary teaching conception who
not only know art but also can integrate knowledge of other disciplines.
Art and science can be mutually
supplementary. I believe science practitioners who have artistic taste can
pursue his endless scientific career with an adaptive and unhurried sate of
mind.
